Things That Make My Life Easier Right Now
If you’re a busy parent, you know this already—anything that makes your life easier is basically worth its weight in gold.
When Walter was an infant, I used to say that anything that bought you 5–10 minutes of hands-free time was worth every penny. And honestly? I still believe that… it just looks a little different now.
Now that he’s a “big kid” (aka: three), the things that make my life easier are less about survival mode and more about saving time, energy, and mental load.
So here’s what’s working for me right now:
Grocery Delivery
Once a week, I get groceries delivered from Kroger and Sam’s Club—and it has been a game changer. Not having to load up, go into the store, and navigate it all with a toddler? Incredible.
That said… I did accidentally send our Sam’s Club order to Paul’s fire station the other day. So while it technically still saved me from going inside a store, I did have to go track it down 😅 Less than ideal—but still worth it overall.
Workout Classes
I recently switched to an unlimited membership at Solidcore, and I’ve been loving it—but honestly, any workout class fits this category.
Whether it’s Solidcore, Barre3, a step class at the gym, or even a Peloton class at home—there’s something so freeing about just showing up and being told what to do.
I do enough planning all day long between work, schedules, meals, and life… it’s nice to have one thing where I don’t have to think.
After-“School” Activities for Walter
This one might sound a little unexpected, but it’s been such a win lately.
These activities give him a chance to burn energy, do something he loves, and get out of the house—and for me, it’s a built-in moment to either be present or sneak in a little productivity if needed.
Answering emails, working on a reel, outlining a blog post… it’s flexible, it’s structured, and best of all—I don’t have to plan it. Just show up (on time… ideally).
Premade Dinners
Not the frozen dinners from our childhood—but close enough.
I’ve talked about these before, but the ready-made meals from Sam’s Club have been a lifesaver. Do I love that they take about an hour in the oven? Not really. But I do love that I don’t have to think about what’s for dinner or prep anything.
And some days, that’s the biggest win.
From-Freezer-to-Oven Proteins
We’re getting specific here, but this might be one of my favorite hacks.
Anything I can cook straight from frozen = one less thing to remember earlier in the day. No thawing, no planning ahead… just grab and go.
Right now, my go-tos are salmon from Kroger (I stock up when it’s BOGO) and pre-cooked chicken that I freeze and reheat when needed. Easy, reliable, done.
Summary
Right now, making life easier isn’t about doing less—it’s about thinking less.
It’s finding small ways to reduce decisions, save time, and give myself just a little more breathing room in the day. Because when you’re juggling work, parenting, and everything in between… those small things add up in a big way.
And honestly? I’ll take every little bit of “easier” I can get.
